Camp offers unique music experience

February 29, 2012 | Focus On | Number 5
WATERLOO, ONT.

Ontario Mennonite Music Camp is gearing up for its 29th year of music making. We’ve got a lot to offer! As always, we promise lots of music: piano, voice, winds, brass, choir, strings, and new this year, guitar. We’ll have you staying in the dormitory at Conrad Grebel University College. We’ll let you sample some of the best dorm food you’ll ever eat. We’ll make the fun last for 12 full days from Aug. 12 to 24! We’ll feed your soul through discussions, chapel and music-making! We’ll put you on stage! We’ll have you singing hymns, jazz, classics, folk and more! We’ll keep things small: about 40 campers. We’ll make things big: a whole camp musical extravaganza! We’ll see that you’re dancing and playing like never before! We’ll find you new friends. We’ll make sure you see all your old friends from last year’s camp. A great thing about Ontario Mennonite Music Camp is that you don’t have to be an expert musician to come. You just have to want to play and learn on your instrument during the two weeks of camp. Campers of all skill levels and between the ages of 12 and 16 are welcome. For more information, check out our website at grebel.uwaterloo.ca/ommc.
